VERTIS DIYA GLASS COVER ADVANTAGES

DIYA GLASS COVER QUALITY

• Every piece of chimney is made to conform to dimensional tolerance, and is free from air lines, bubbles, chipping. Quality assurance starts at the raw material stage and is continued at every step of the manufacturing process.

• What makes the chimney robust is the adherence to strict quality standards as above and a process called Annealing. After forming, the glass develops residual stresses which will have to be relieved by placing the piece in a controlled temperature soaked furnace.

• The temperature is taken up gradually to 600 deg C and allowed to soak and then the temperature is brought down gradually. The cycle is for a period of 5 hours. This gives the VERTIS glass a better thermal shock resistance compared to competition and lasts longer.

DIYA GLASS COVER PERFORMANCE TESTS

VERTIS glass is subject to 2 schools of test methods to be rated as absolutely robust:

DIYA GLASS COVER THERMAL SHOCK TEST (conducted in Europe and Singapore)

Five pieces of glasses are kept in oven at 200°C for one hour & then put directly in water at 20(+5) deg C. No one is allowed to crack.

VERTIS test method (in house testing) for DIYA GLASS COVER

The Diya glass cover is allowed to be operational in a pressure lantern for a period of 30 min (standard test method stipulates 20 as done in Germany). After this, water at about 20deg C is sprinkled on the chimney (in VERTIS case, we sprinkle all over). The glass is not expected to crack.

We have noted with a temperature sensor that the temperature of the glass reaches 200 deg C. Which means, the thermal shock is 180 deg C(200-20). Standard 3.3 borosilicate glass is expected to withstand a thermal shock of 120 deg C, not more.
